Cal Cumin

A Billings native and Vietnam veteran, Cal Cumin has devoted his adult life to public service. He has been deeply involved in developing parks and recreation in Yellowstone County, and in developing our economic strength. In addition to the military, (retired Army National Guard intelligence analyst), and in addition to writing, his many interests include flying (private pilot), martial artist (black belt), SCUBA (senior diver), and his two companions—long-haired dachshunds Muki and Spike. The other light of his life is his daughter and her family also of Billings.  He lives on the prairie west of Shepherd.

His latest book is The Sword Bearer Incident. It deals with a little known event that turned into the only armed conflict between the Crow tribe and the United States Army.

Cal became a member-owner in January 2018.
