One Book Billings: Gary Ferguson
At 6:00 on the evening of Wednesday, March 7, Gary Ferguson, best-selling author and lecturer essayist, will hold an informal discussion and give a reading of his book, The Carry Home: Lessons from the American Wilderness. Books are provided to participants courtesy of the Billings Public Library Foundation. The group leader is Kristeen Keup.
This book is both a moving celebration of the outdoor life shared between Ferguson and his wife Jane, who died tragically in a canoeing accident in northern Ontario in 2005, and a chronicle of the mending, uplifting power of nature. Gary Ferguson of Red Lodge has written for a variety of national publications, including Vanity Fair and the Los Angeles Times, and is the author of 22 books on nature and science.
Operating under a grant from Bernard Rose and Marge McArthur under the auspices of the Billings Public Library Foundation, the Billings Public Library One Book Billings program seeks to provide a forum for library patrons to read and discuss in small groups regional authors and/or literary works which examine and reflect life on the High Plains, especially Montana.
Please call the Billings Public Library at (406) 657-8290 or stop by the 2nd floor Help Desk at the downtown location for more information on how to obtain your copy of this wonderful book. Call us at This House of Books for details about the meeting on March 7.
The event is free and open to the public.
