Reading of "Lily Good Path" with Authors and Illustrator
Lily Good Path, a Crow Indian girl, is the heroine of a series of stories that introduce children to tribal storytelling traditions while teaching respect for native cultures and the need to care for the Earth. Her adventures are based on folk stories of specific North American tribes. Independent Publisher Online identifies the award-winning Lily Good Path series as “groundbreaking.”
We think the Lily Good Path books will make excellent gifts for Easter. Accompanying the series is a charming set of character dolls that we can show at the reading.
The books meet the Office of Public Instruction criteria for use in schools and are currently being taught at the elementary school level. Lesson plans for the Lily series are being presented at the Montana Indian Education Association Conference in April.
The authors—Bessie Crooked Arm, Sabrina Half, Violet Birdinground—and the series illustrator, A.J. Otjen will be at This House of Books to give us readings from Lily Good Path. Find out more at their website then bring your children to meet the authors at This House of Books.
