Author Event: John Pavlovitz CANCELLED

Due to scheduling conflicts, John Pavlovitz, who was scheduled for Saturday, April 28 at 5:30, has had to cancel his appearance at This House of Books. 

We encourage you to take in his appearance in Billings on April 29 at 5:30 at First Congregational Church, 310 N. 27th. Tickets for the event at First Congregational are available at Brown Paper Tickets.

We are excited to have author John Pavlovitz at This House of Books on Saturday, April 28, starting at 5:30. He will read from, lead a discussion about, and sign his book, A Bigger Table: Building Messy, Authentic, and Hopeful Spiritual Community.

Pavlovitz’ book, A Bigger Table, is a call to Christians who want a more inclusive church, one that does not say to anyone, “there is no room here for people like you.” He calls to people who are distressed by the injustices of prejudice, our crack-down on immigrants, our inability to pass gun control measures, our retreat from climate change commitments, the anti-Muslim rhetoric heard so often now. He argues forcefully that Jesus set an example for creating an inclusive, open, and just society, and he urges us to follow Jesus’ example.
